Today there is a lack of trust in leaders, notably those leading the church, potentially leading to a lack of trust in God Himself--the Leater. Therefore, leaders must gain and maintain the servant-leader character for which the entire world yearns. Secondary leadership in particular is not glamourous and is often thankless. Secondary leaders are uniquely challenged to provide credibility to their leaders, their followers, and the world--all at once. Many are burned out, demoralized, and needing healing. Others have developed unhealthy attitudes and need admonition, We must help to rebuild credibility in leadership, remembering that our service is ultimately "unto the Lord." He is the first and final Judge. The leader that He finds credible is the one all others can trust.

About the Author

Michael Blue has been the pastor of The Door of Hope Christian Church since 1992. He also serves as the presiding prelate of the Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries. He is the recipient of several ecclesiastical and community service honors, and was awarded the distinction of Doctor of Humanities by Francis Marion University, his alma mater, in 2010. Bishop Blue is a disciple, husband, father, psalmist, and student of the Word.

Great instructional book

Building Credibility in Leadership is a great book for leaders in the secular and spiritual arenas. The information given provides great guidance to leaders of all ages and types. The development of leaders is one of the most important vehicles to ensure the continuation of an organization. It is a task that takes knowledge, skill and wisdom. This book offers it all!

Reading this book has assisted me in my personal and professional life as a Christian who operates in primary and secondary leadership roles as a minister, counselor, mentor and entrepreneur. Whether is in the walls of the sanctuary or the walls of the conference room, the wisdom, shared by Bishop Michael A. Blue Sr., can activate change in your scope and performance as a leader.

I purchased the e-version of BCIL because of its convenience. I am THOROUGHLY pleased with the product's content. Bishop Michael Blue is a prolific author and shares incredible insights in Leadership. The tools provided in the manuscript can be applied in several arenas such as churches, corporations, municipalities, social clubs and education. I encourage everyone to get a copy and allow the content to positively affect their lives.

The most helpful resource you'll find.

I started creating InfoPath forms a few months ago. In that time, I've looked at various websites and books on creating InfoPath forms. I needed to create forms that could query data from SQL, submit data to SQL, be hosted on SharePoint, and utilize code when required for functionality. I found nearly everything I needed to know in Cookbook 3. This book is far and away more helpful than any other resource I've found in print or online.

Indeed, this book has great examples on how to create a SOAP Web Service to submit data to SQL and to return a value to InfoPath (such as a newly inserted record's identity value). I also used this book's examples on how to submit a repeating table's rows to a Web Service; how to use a SQL stored procedure to fill the records of a secondary data connection; and how to add rows to a repeating table programmatically, among many other things.

Without this book, I would have gotten nowhere with creating InfoPath forms.

Good Reference

I rarely write reviews, but I purchased this book and found it to be very useful. I have a small library of working solutions collected from past development projects, and it's fairly solid. But in many cases, the ideas in this book are better, and I'm rethinking my architectural approach. I also like the way that the author has organized the `cookbook' - it's easy to find solutions for specific development issues. One suggestion: I'd like to have this on Kindle.

I am a novice SharePoint Developer and found this book extremely helpful. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is I believe the author should add more screenshots and be a little more directive in the instructions. Really great book overall though.

As a self-described "champion of small uglies," English writer Gerald Durrell (1925-1995) devoted his life to writing and the preservation of wildlife, from the Mauritius pink pigeon to the Rodriques fruit bat. My Family and Other Animals was intended to embrace the natural history of the Greek island of Corfu, but ended up as a delightful account of his family's experiences that were, according to him, "rather like living in one of the more flamboyant and slapstick comic operas."

As a 10-year-old boy, Gerry left England for Corfu with "all those items that I thought necessary to relieve the tedium of a long journey: four books on natural history, a butterfly net, a dog, and a jam-jar full of caterpillars all in imminent danger of turning into chrysalids." Durrell's descriptions of his family and its many eccentric hangers-on (he stresses that "all the anecdotes about the island and the islanders are absolutely true") are highly entertaining, as is the procession of toads, scorpions, geckos, ladybugs, glowworms, octopuses, the puppies Widdle and Puke, and the Magenpies. This is a lovely book.

About the Author
Gerald Durrell was born in 1925 at Jamshedpur, India. In 1928 his family returned to England and then went to live on the Continent. They settled on the island of Corfu, and during this time he made a special study of zoology and kept a large number of local wild animals as pets. In 1945 he joined the staff of Whipsnade Park as a student keeper and in 1947 he financed, organized and led his first animal-collecting expedition to the Cameroons. He undertook numerous further expeditions, visiting Paraguay, Argentina, Sierra Leone, Mexico, Mauritius, Assam and Madagascar. His first television programme, 'Two in the Bush', was made in 1962 when he and his first wife travelled to New Zealand, Australia and Malaya. He went on to make seventy programmes out of his trips around the world. In 1959 he founded the Jersey Zoological Park, of which he was Director, and in 1964 he founded the Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust. He was awarded the OBE in 1982. As a self-described 'champion of small uglies', Durrell dedicated his life to the preservation of wildlife, and it is through his efforts that creatures such as the Mauritius pink pigeon and the Rodrigues fruit bat have avoided extinction. Encouraged to write about his life's work by his novelist brother Lawrence, Durrell published his first book, The Overloaded Ark, in 1953. It soon became a bestseller and he went on to write thirty-six other titles, including My Family and Other Animals, The Bafut Beagles, Encounters with Animals, The Drunken Forest, A Zoo in My Luggage, The Whispering Land, Menagerie Manor, The Amateur Naturalist, The Aye-Aye and I and, with Lee Durrell, Durrell in Russia. Gerald Durrell died in 1995. Speaking about him to the Times Charles Secrett, Director of Friends of the Earth, said 'He was one of the first people to wake the world up to what was happening to the environment. His books and programmes helped a whole new generation of environmentalists come into being.'

Disappointing for this reader

Disappointed. I purchased this book because of my enjoyment of the TV series. I knew of Gerald Durrell from books that I had read decades ago, which I had found interesting. Those books were concerned with quests for animals in distant countries. I expected this book to be more about the life of his very interesting family in Corfu, which it was to a certain extent but I found the amount of text describing plants, insects and small animals too slow and all-consuming for me. The book is well-written and I am sure will provide readers interested in the flora and fauna of Corfu with much interesting information. I admit to giving up on the book, speed reading the second half only to check that I hadn't missed much. I reiterate that I had made a mistake in anticipating the type of content and I am sure that the book will provide enjoyment for many readers with different expectations.

Small book but immensely wonderful story

This is one of my all time favorite books. However I was unhappily surprised by the small size of the book and the number of typos. Perhaps I missed the size description when shopping but the typos are inexcusable. All that said I am happy to own a new copy that should last the many re-readings to come.

Corfu Trilogy - a Treat for your literary sense

These stories are incredible and because of them i traveled to Greece four times and painted for weeks on end. The books were written in the 50s, and i thought when i went in the 80s that the people would be different, but they were as he described in the three stories of living on Corfu. The food and music were also as he described . I am collecting first editions of Durrells's books if they have any story about that time just before WWII., for my library and i have introduced his writing to many other people.

Excellent product. I also bought the accompanying book

This is an essential tool for the family practitioner that doesn't see pediatric patients enough to have everything memorized. This allows for me to feel confident in every well child examination that I conduct. It allows for me to give precise and simple advice to parents and get all the milestones checked. Other clinicians in my office routinely borrow this because it is so valuable. Excellent product. I also bought the accompanying book, but don't use it that often.

It does have the information from birth to teen about milestones, wet/poop diapers, diet, etc. It does not have vaccines. However I would like it if the book would have tabs because it's not so easy to flip and find 6mos infant. You have to keep flipping and looking at the headings on the side. I also wish it had more of "abnormal findings" in each section.

Losing your head over history

The Ilongots, never a numerous people, traditionally lived in the forested mountains of central Luzon, in the Philippines. Though they may number as many as 50,000 today, most of them do not live in their traditional lands. The reasons are cultural, historical, economic, or all three. Up to the early 1970s, most Ilongots still followed what might be called a "traditional" life, though a main point of Rosaldo's work is to question that very word. The question for readers of this book is "do you really need to know very much about an obscure Philippine people ?" The answer for those who are not Southeast Asia specialists is probably "no". However, ILONGOT HEADHUNTING is not a straight-out ethnography, nor is it an exciting (titillating?) book about gruesome, exotic practices in the jungle. It is a very interesting and serious attempt to reverse the old anthropological habit of presenting small, isolated societies as if they existed in a vacuum, without history, without any influences from outside. Rosaldo wants to do away with the notion of the "timeless primitive". All peoples have history and their lives and actions definitely reflect it. Just because anthropologists did not find neat books and historical records in such places as the Ilongot mountains does not mean life never changed there. The life cycle of the individual, long a favorite focus for anthropologists, was never an "immutable structure". People's lives constantly changed from generation to generation. Rosaldo painstakingly weaves a story of clans, feuds, marriages, relationships with outsiders, and new influences to show that Ilongot history---though not remembered for much more than a century by the people---played a definite role in many aspects of their lives. In fact, they were obsessed by history.

Cultural continuity and cultural homogeneity in such small groups of people who hunt and farm in remote mountains has often been taken for granted. Though Anthropology has changed drastically since the 1970s, when Rosaldo wrote the book, ILONGOT HEADHUNTING is valuable because it shows why and how history must be factored into every account of a people, no matter how remote. Rather than continuity, Ilongot history has been marked by sharp shocks and abrupt changes. Rosaldo traces the changing patterns of feuds among shifting alliances of clans, who married or fought according to numerous influences. Headhunting among Ilongots was not an exercise of "collection" as among certain other peoples. You expressed your anger and took revenge for insults or previous attacks by killing a person, cutting off their head, and throwing it away. Because of the constant change in alliances and continuous change of location due to slash-and-burn agricultural practices, and because of the turmoil of the previous 75 years, the Ilongot view of life was one of constant change. They did not expect that their children would have similar lives to theirs. Thanks to leftist guerrillas, evangelical Protestant missionaries from the USA, serious incursions onto Ilongot land by lowland peasant farmers, and the spread of education, we could be sure at the end of the book that the next generation of Ilongots would experience an entirely different world. Even headhunting might die away forever.

Much of Rosaldo's work, as befits an intensely academic study, is so detailed as to be useful only to scholars. The long discussions of the development cycle of domestic groups and of marriages are too intricate to be very readable. From the start I wondered why Ilongots wanted to take heads. I did not find out until page 140. Similarly, chapter 8,which puts the feuds of the Ilongot clans in historical perspective, could very well have come first, giving the reader a better feel of what kind of activity was under discussion. Lutishia Lovely is at it again with the Livingston crew in this next installment of the business series titled Taking Care of Business and that is EXACTLY what they do!!!!!

Bianca Livingston's West Coast leg of the Taste Of Soul empire which is called Taste Of Soul Tapas Style - TOSTS for short - has just finished with a very successful one year anniversary celebration when the restaurant is totally destroyed by a fire. Knowing all of the problems that has occurred with the Livingston family was this fire an accident or deliberate? In typical Livingston style, the entire family rushes to Bianca's side for support all accept her brother Jefferson.

Jefferson Livingston is still in mourning over the loss of his position to run the West Coast leg of Taste of Soul to his sister Bianca and the loss of the only woman that he has ever loved Keisha in the only way that he knows how, at the bottom of a bottle.

Chardonnay Wilson, assistant manager at Taste of Soul has not gotten over the fact that she helped the Livingston's put the man who's stolen from the Livingston Corporation behind bars only to have them renege on the reward money. Her husband Bobby, who is a chef with the corporation is looking forward to growing within the company but has some secrets that could possibly ruin those chances.

Cooper Riley, the attorney that Bianca was engaged to before leaving him to be with Xavier Marquis, is defending Quintin Bright, the man put in jail for stealing money from the Livingston Corporation and also shooting Adam Livingston is also dating Quintin's sister Keisha who helped steal the money from Jefferson and the Livingstons.

Shlya Martin, ex-marketing director for the Livingston Corporation is still upset that she didn't get what she wanted, Toussaint, but instead got forced into retirement from the Livingston Corporation with a nice severance package is still trying to figure out how to get back at the almighty family and not get in trouble for it. Joyce Witherspoon, owner of Loving Spoonful event planning business is trying to recover from not being able to snag one of the Livingston men but through her business sense and her beauty, she will make another attempt with this soul-food dynasty.

Then there is the head of the Livingston clan, Marcus and Marietta Livingston, who are retired from the business but not from the family and the family IS the business. Marietta with her way of feeling/predicting something is going awry within the family keeps close ties to the kids and grandkids in a way that they still don't understand. Marcus is such a strong man of seventy-five but doesn't want to be left out of the loop when it comes to problems that may arise because he can still help and is more than willing to do so.

Taking Care of Business is the third book in the business series by Lutishia Lovely and this book once again had me on the edge of my seat and talking with and to the characters. I absolutely love the way that while you are reading this book, you can feel like you are right there with the Livingstons and you want to help and give hugs where needed. That is the sign of a writer who is in tune with her readers because we go right along with the family on the ride of their lives. The first book is All Up In My Business and the second book is Mind Your Own Business so if you haven't already gotten them, get all three TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KUDOS to you Lutishia, you have done it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just When You Think It's Over.....

The Livingston Family returns in Taking Care of Business by Lutishia Lovely and the story begins with a bang. Bianca is preparing for the first anniversary of a Taste of Soul Tapas Style or TOTS restaurant; when her grandmother, Marietta, has a premonition that something is wrong. Once tragedy hits, the Livingston's travel to Los Angeles to tackle their latest problem, with the exception of Jefferson. Still feeling bitter about losing the West coast restaurant to Bianca and revelations about Divine, Jefferson has been missing meetings and avoiding the family. In the meantime, the families' enemies, Shyla, Quintin, and Keisha, were plotting revenge.

Whew... is all I can say. Nobody can write drama like Lutishia Lovely. This story will have you shaking your head, laughing, and crying. Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, Lovely adds another twist. Once all the dust settles and the drama ends, readers will be thoroughly satisfied with its ending. I enjoyed this series.

Should be a mini series!!!!

Taking Care of Business is the third book in the business series. I have patiently waited a year for the book to be released. The whole series should be a mini series. These books are so great and have so much drama, excitement and suspense. I practically took off work to read this book because I did not want any distractions. Lutishia Lovely is an author where I don't have to even read the synopsis of the books I know it will be a great story. I hope this series get chosen for a screenplay or movie because it certaintly should be on the big screen! Great Job!!!!!!

Basic Stuff with lots of self-promotion

I thumbed through this book quite quickly (I didn't buy it but a friend has it), so I'm hoping I may just have been unlucky and missed every single good part of the book. But if so, that in itself is quite telling.

Nothing really stood out as being innovative, just the same stuff as in every other MLM book but said differently. On top of that, lots of self-promotion is going on... Just use the "look inside" feature of Amazon to see what I'm talking about.

I am NOT saying that the proposed strategies won't work; I think they will. But I am saying that I did not see anything obviously "new", "innovative", or "earth shattering" in the content. Could it be good as a collated source for basic "MLM 101:Internet" info? Yes. Could you find most of this for free online, or through your own intuition? Probably.

From what I have seen, this book's aim is not actually to make you successful at MLM; it is to convince you that the author is "an MLM Powerhouse" and to drive you to go to his website so you can join up under him and bring him money that way. Look at the progression of chapter titles to see what I mean... The book pretty much goes: His "OMG I'm so successful" story > Content > what to do now > Oh by the way look at this special offer and great pre-launch opportunity that I just happen to casually mention...

All this seemed to confirm my initial suspicion:
I looked up this book because I saw a press release the author just distributed about a project I am involved in. I wanted to look this guy up because I am a friend of a co-founder of the company, and the numbers he quotes in his press release are completely out of whack, and blatant lies (unless my friend has been lying to me, and the online video updates by the CEO of said company are also lies... ). Add to that his claim of being a "#1 bestselling author" when his ONLY book, released 6 months ago (so he is a "new" author it seems) is ranked #74 of a sub sub sub sub sub category and 200 000th overall on Amazon... and you quickly get the picture; I'm not sure I'd want to get involved with him. So, how credible are the reviews of his book, or the author himself? I don't know him, maybe he just "made a mistake" on his self-promoting profile and press release...

I may be wrong don't take my word for it, do your own research!

No real meat

Realizing that the internet can play a big role in networking with people I was looking for some concrete steps and examples of how to utilize the internet to build a thriving MLM group, especially in the prelaunch stage. This book could have, based on the author, been full of specifics. Instead, it was full of vague ideas without concrete examples and no real specific plans for how to actually utilize social marketing to build your prelaunch network.

I bought the book in particular for the section on social marketing utilizing Facebook etc. Apparently, the author was working on a prelaunch as he wrote this book and talked about a plan he had in place utilizing social networking that he had for his team but he gave no specifics on actually how to do it. Just said if you joined his team, you would have access.

The book is great if you want motivational thoughts and how to keep yourself pumped up. Those portions of the book were good but that wasn't the purpose of the book. The big idea of the book was how to execute a massive prelaunch campaign. Sadly, this book lacked the specifics to help someone do that.

One bonus he did provide was a website where you could download a second version of the book to give to people that was stripped of any identifying information about the author so you could use it as a tool to build a team. This was a nice gesture. That book can be helpful to people with no background of mlm or who need some inspiration and motivation.

Her cooking inspiration comes from the females in her family: her mother, grandmother and her aunts, their bustling Japanese kitchens and food styles. Her family was all about preparing meals from scratch. She has lived in London for the past 20 years with her four children. Makiko's restaurant, Suzu, specializes in Japanese tapas, including traditional sushi, sashimi, and tempura as well as dishes that she has created herself.

Simple recipes for a long life, the Shoku-Iku way!

Much like the traditional Japanese Buddhist shojin ryori, Shoku Iku (“food education”) is a Japanese concept involving conscious eating: what we eat, how we prepare it, and how different foods are combined. Much like the traditional Japanese Buddhist shojin ryori, shoku iku is based on the power of five: each meal should have five colors (green/blue, red/orange, white, black/brown, yellow), tastes (sweet, sour, bitter, salt, umami), senses, food groups and cooking methods (steam, simmer, broil, grill and fry, no-cook, sushi).

Makiko Sano’s new book “Healthy Japanese Cooking” (published in the UK as “Shoku Iku”) immediately caught my eye; having lived in Japan on multiple occasions, I have long been attracted to Japanese washoku (traditional cuisine) and shojin ryori (Buddhist vegan cuisine). Traditional Japanese meals are based on the freshest seasonal ingredients, engage all the senses, and if eaten properly and with mindfulness, should leave you satisfied but not stuffed (the Japanese concept of hara hachi bu, or eat until you are 80 percent full).

Beginning with the essential dashi (stock) and dressings (rosemary soy, sweet soy, sesame salad sprinkle, shabu shabu and others), there are very handy illustrations and step-by-step photos to instruct you on rolling sushi, julienning vegetables, etc. Dashi is the backbone of most Japanese soups / hot pots, and you'll find several variations here, including basic dashi (kelp + bonito flakes), vegetarian dashi (kelp and dried shiitake), Motoko's dashi (made with liquid from cooking brown rice; I had not seen this method in my other cookbooks!), and two soup stocks.

I found the chapter on steaming particularly helpful as I have not cooked fish via this method before, but you’ll find heavenly steamed sea bream, a posh cod dinner in 20 minutes, steamed chicken, stuffed veggies, pork dumplings, etc., most cooked in the microwave. However, a word of caution; these recipes were tested at 800 watts, and it would appear that American microwaves are more powerful in general (mine is 1.58 kW), so you may need to adjust cooking times.

Some of the steamed dishes are cooked on the stovetop; my new favorite discovery is the “Full Japanese” garden breakfast, full of leafy greens, tomatoes, mushrooms and eggs nestled into the greens. I also loved the vegan monk recipe for stuffed pumpkin and steamed sticky rice, which is full of carrots, shiitake, and mushrooms (you can leave out the chicken to make it vegan). And my favorite steamed custard chawanmushi also makes an appearance, as do perfect teatime snacks mochi, sweet potato treats, and fruit buns.

The fried chapter includes Japanese burgers and shrimp barbecue, but you’ll also find healthy low-fat vegetarian options like Japanese grilled vegetable “stir fry” (half grilled, half steamed), eggplant and shallot salad, “full of goodness” (with a liberal helping of my favorite Japanese vegetable, lotus root!), and chili tofu. The sushi chapter features an amazing brown shiitake and pumpkin sushi, temaki, sesame seed salmon sushi, brown rice tuna sushi with sweet-hot sauce, five senses super-tasty salmon sushi, and some new variations like wasabi cream cheese sushi with lamb, avocado and pear quinoa power sushi, and sushi canapes.

Ingredients are listed both in metric and US (volume). Beautiful full-color photos by Lisa Linder capture the aesthetic of Japanese cuisine, with beautiful tableware that offsets the featured dish perfectly.

The resulting dishes, all of which embrace the “shoku iku” philosophy, are light, nutritious, and provide plenty of variety of colors, flavors, and textures that are sure to brighten any meal. I found several new dishes that I plan on making frequently, including the egg and tofu dashi soup, rice noodles with mushroom broth, pan tai, iced tomatoes, brown shiitake and pumpkin sushi, and steamed sticky rice.

If you are new to Japanese cooking / flavors, then “Healthy Japanese Cooking” is the perfect introduction as it uses commonplace ingredients (you may have to order some of the more traditional ingredients like kombu and bonito flakes online), simple techniques, and is aligned much more closely with the traditional Japanese diet based on fish and vegetables than many Japanese cookbooks aimed at Western audiences.

Beautiful to read, easy to follow, delicious recipes

Great book! I knew nothing about Japanese cooking and this was an excellent way to get started.
The text is aesthetically arranged and is pleasing to read. Instructions are clear and sufficient for getting the job done. Tips are given that show the author is aware of the common challenges of novice are.
The recipe are easy but delicious.
If you like to cook, want to eat more healthfully and love Japanese food, I highly, highly recommend this book.
