A great book

I'm a med student -- our book list said buy either the Guyton or this book, and based on the reviews, I bought the Guyton -- big mistake. Apparently the Guyton book is better on Cardiology, so I kept it, but I bought this book too and it's great. It's very well organized and to the point. The Guyton book takes at least twice the pages to say the same thing. I certainly don't have time to do any more reading than I have to. This book is well organized, clear, and to the point. I've had no problems with the binding, either.

it should have been selected for textbook

we just hated this book so much, from the whole class. I am not saying anything to the seller, but the book was really not well-organized. The illustration in the textbook are not clear. Another book of Human Physiology would be much better. Especially in the muscle physiology part, it is a whole mess.

This textbook is a nightmare.

The chapters were written by different people and it is not consistant at all. All the chapters started from the middle without introducing the basic terms. The illustrations are confusing too.

I am a graduate student in biomedical engineering and we use this book as the textbook in class. All of my classmates find this book terrible.

I strongly suggest not buying this book, especially for beginners.

Perfect edition of Okudzhava in Russian and English

I have been looking for an English translation of Bulat Okudzhava's poetry to introduce my students to his work in both Russian and English. This book is perfect. It was important for me to find a translation that conveys the beauty of Okudzhava's verse and the full meaning of each piece. Often translations of Russian poetry turn out flat/two-dimensional in English. Not the case with this book! Every single piece is vibrant, alive, evokes the same images as the Russian original.

Great baseline real world read that motivates!

Great read with smooth flow. True tried opinions and sharing what works. Great examples of basic post processing motivated me to take a better look at my own work. Good tips on failsafe processing to ensure final art isnt overcooked and presentable. I really enjoyed this read and found the content on each page kept me reading long enough to kill my kindle battery. Will be looking for other publications from this author.

Wonderful and informative read to say the least

Wonderful and informative read to say the least. This is not some "photography tips" book, rather these pages contain a lengthy and detailed explanation of how one can obtain not only great photographs, but also how to tastefully edit your captures in post-processing. Though I, myself, am familiar with photography methods, I really appreciate that the author took the time to explain the workflow in such a way that a complete amateur may fully grasp the lessons he is imparting.
