If you want to know how to help a family in this crisis read this book.

I found reading this book equally comforting & horrifying. My emotional journey matched Alice's so much so it was uncanny. She made me feel normal for once. I am guessing that many in this situation find themselves sharing the same reactions. I am still sorting out what happened, and what to do. I may never know exactly what happened which is hard thing to live with. Alice was fortunate to have so much support with each step and some closure. I wish my family were so fortunate. We have been put through an additional hell. My kids and I were also affected by lies a struggling family member made up about them and I. My story is pretty unreal and still feels surreal. Who and what to believe? One day my whole world imploded and it is like I found myself in another universe. Left all alone and completely unraveling, to try to figure out how to keep my kids and I surviving in this strange new world, all while dodging bombs sent at us from our former friends and allies. Hopefully, more families come forward with their stories and people can get a glimpse of the hell that the families also find themselves in. I don't think people intentionally hurt the families. They just do not understand. I am glad there is a book now to help get a glimpse. I highly recommend this book.

It is a must read book

I don't know how I came upon this book , but reading it was the most eye opening ,saddest , horrifying, mind boggling reality check . For every person who has a child or children , who thinks something like this could never happen to them or there family , I urge you just to take a while and read this book . ....and I had to read it in stages ., because it affected me tremendously .
A book that needed to be written ...thank you , for having the courage to share with us . I applaude your honesty and compassion
